From restoring coral reefs and protecting marine life, to learning from Indigenous tribes who hold ancient wisdom about living in harmony with nature, every journey with us is designed to awaken something powerful within you.

Our Story

How Sacred Roots Volunteer & Travel Began

Sacred Roots Volunteer & Travel began as a simple conversation between two women who wanted to make a difference. We were introduced by a mutual friend and talked a few times before life took us in different directions. Years later, Katya reached out to Reese after coming across an article about forest restoration in Costa Rica, saying, “Hey, you live there, think this is something we could do?”

That one message sparked something powerful. From that moment, the vision started to grow, to create volunteer experiences that not only support the Earth but reconnect people to it. What began as an idea has become a global mission: to build meaningful volunteer programs that protect the planet, support local communities, and inspire people to live with purpose and awareness.

Sacred Roots Volunteer & Travel was built from the heart, born from a shared belief that giving back should be both impactful and deeply human. Every project we create is designed to leave the planet better than we found it, to leave nothing behind but footprints in the sand.

We believe that by getting back to our roots, healing the Earth, supporting each other, and understanding the world we share, we can rediscover what it truly means to be human.
