Sacred Roots Volunteer Travel was founded by Katya, whose lifelong love for nature and animals blossomed into a heartfelt mission — one that, in her own words, has become a love letter to the Earth. From an early age, Katya felt a deep connection to the natural world: the rhythm of the oceans, the language of the trees, and the silent wisdom in the eyes of animals. Over time, that connection evolved into a calling — to help others rediscover their bond with the planet, to empower people of all ages to reconnect with Mother Earth, and to create a ripple effect of healing, awareness, and change.
 

The Philosophy: We Are Made of Earth
 

Katya holds a profound understanding that science and spirit are not separate — they are threads of the same tapestry. The elements that form our bodies — carbon, hydrogen, oxygen — are the very same that shape the mountains, flow through rivers, and dance in the air. We are, quite literally, made of Earth. This truth reminds us that our fate, and the fate of our children, is inseparable from the health and harmony of the planet. We are not passive inhabitants of the Earth; we are part of a vast, living system that breathes, feels, and evolves alongside us. When we heal ourselves, we help heal the Earth.
